Individual Counselling

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, stuck, or uncertain.

Individual counselling offers a space to slow down, talk things through, and better understand what you're experiencing.

We can explore what’s been weighing on you, at a pace that feels right for you.

EMDR Therapy

EMDR can be helpful when difficult or overwhelming experiences continue to impact how you feel, think, or respond.

We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, with space to pause and adjust along the way.

Cancellation Policy

Your appointment time is reserved especially for you. To respect both your time and mine, 24 hours’ notice is required for all cancellations and appointment changes.

Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments or no-shows, may be subject to a late cancellation/no-show fee of up to the full session fee, at the counsellor’s discretion.

I understand that unexpected circumstances can arise, and consideration may be given to emergencies or exceptional circumstances.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, you can do so through your account on the booking app or by contacting me by email at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time.

This policy is intended to ensure that appointment times are used thoughtfully and to maintain availability for clients who are seeking care.

In addition to Sun & Sand Counselling Services, I am also a therapist with Dearborn Therapy, where I provide virtual appointments across Ontario and in-person services in Sioux Lookout.

Privacy & Confidentiality

Small-Town Considerations

In a small town, it’s natural to worry about running into someone you know - especially your therapist. If we happen to cross paths, you can decide what feels right - say hi, wave, or just keep going - and I’ll never be offended. Whatever happens, what we talk about in sessions stays completely private.

Supportive, Accessible Care Across Ontario

I offer secure virtual sessions for anyone across the province, creating a supportive, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where you can speak openly, explore your thoughts, and focus on your well-being.

How Your Information Is Protected

All sessions are conducted using a secure, encrypted electronic services platform, and records are stored safely and accessed only by me. I follow Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the standards of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) to ensure your personal health information is handled responsibly and confidentially.

Your Comfort Comes First

Your comfort, trust, and privacy always come first. My goal is to provide a safe space where you can focus on your well-being with confidence.

Insurance

Many health benefit plans in Ontario cover services provided by registered psychotherapists.

I’m a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and I provide an official receipt with my license number after each session.

You can check with your insurance provider to confirm your eligibility and reimbursement details, and I’m happy to answer any questions you have about the process.

This website is operated by a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario. Information provided is for general purposes only and does not constitute psychotherapy, advice, or establish a therapist-client relationship. Services are provided in Ontario in accordance with regulations, and personal information is protected under PHIPA. Email and online forms may not be fully secure.

This site is not monitored for emergencies - if you are in crisis, please contact 911 or a local crisis line.
